These jar mixes are almost as much fun to make as they are to give. They look impressive, too!

Making Sand Art Brownies Jars

Create these beautiful sand art brownies as gifts that are sure to be delicious and fun to make. To make the simplest of homemade food gifts, layer the ingredients in a wide-mouthed jar in the order given. Mix the 5/8 cup of flour with salt.

Ingredients
  • 5/8 cup all-purpose flour (1/2 cup + 2 tbsp)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup vanilla baking chips
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease one 9 x 9 square baking pan.
  3. Pour the contents of the jar into a bowl and mix well.
  4. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 cup vegetable oil and 3 eggs. Beat until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake in the oven for 26 to 30 minutes.

SAND ART BROWNIES in a jar

SAND ART BROWNIES

5/8 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup packed brown sugar 2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup vanilla baking chips
1/2 cup walnuts

Mix the 5/8 cup of flour with salt. In a clean wide mouth quart or liter sized jar layer the ingredients in the order given. Starting with the flour and salt mixture and ending with the walnuts.

ATTACH A DECORATIVE TAG TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE JAR WITH THE:

“Sand Art Brownies”:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9x9 inch square baking pan. Pour the contents of the jar into a large bowl and mix well. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil and 3 eggs. Beat until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes one 9x9 pan. Enjoy
